Welcome from the Head of School
Welcome to Epiphany Community Nursery School, currently celebrating our 40th Anniversary! All of you are embarking on a wonderful journey; one that is at its core a fundamental part of parenting. Deciding where our children should go to school, particularly their first steps in nursery school, is as much about understanding our children and their personalities as understanding the schools and their philosophies.
ECNS has been under my direction for the past 40 years and I am proud to share with you here a glimpse into an extraordinary place. Housed under the red canopy on East 74th Street, our classrooms are bright and cheery, filled with wonderful light from either a window or a skylight. Our walls are a reflection of our curriculum, changing daily with artwork and projects that chronicle our children’s’ exploration into the wonders of the seasons and the world around them.
We are a tight community, diverse in our make-up but united in our mission to inspire curiosity and build self-confidence in our children. Our active Parents Association and Fathers Committee offer wonderful ways for parents to get involved and share in the ECNS experience. Our dedicated teachers are committed to professional development, allowing us to maintain an intellectually and educationally engaged staff. Our focus is to secure the foundation for future learning, instilling a love for knowledge and a pride in effort.
Here at ECNS, we recognize we are part of a larger community; service and outreach are a critical part of day to day life. Even at this tender age, learning compassion and the art of giving is a fundamental piece to developing kinder, gentler children.
Please look through the site; it is a small window into ECNS. I am more than happy to discuss our school’s program and answer any questions you may have.
Looking forward to meeting you soon,
Wendy Levey, Head of School
